Job Description – Project Buyer
Position: Project Buyer / Site Buyer
Department: Procurement
Location: Project Site
Role Purpose
To support project execution by managing site procurement activities, ensuring timely availability of materials, equipment, and services required for construction while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with procurement procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute procurement activities for site-specific material, equipment, and service requirements.
- Float RFQs, obtain quotations, conduct comparative analysis, and prepare recommendations for purchase.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with approved procurement processes.
- Coordinate with project, engineering, stores, and construction teams to understand procurement requirements and priorities.
- Follow up with vendors for order acknowledgments, deliveries, and documentation.
- Track material delivery schedules and ensure timely availability at the site.
- Resolve supplier-related issues concerning quality, delivery, and commercial matters.
- Maintain procurement records, reports, and documentation.
- Support vendor identification, evaluation, and development activities.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, company policies, and HSE requirements.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of procurement experience, preferably in EPC, construction, infrastructure, power, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain operations.
- Experience working at project/construction sites is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office applications.
- Strong coordination, communication, and negotiation skills.
