Job Summary
The EHS Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) standards at the project/site to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies. The role involves proactive risk management, safety culture development, and continuous improvement of EHS performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices at the site.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, legal, and regulatory EHS requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor EHS performance and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Organize and conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and EHS training programs.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain EHS documentation, permits, records, and statutory registers.
- Support emergency preparedness, mock drills, and crisis management activities.
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and project teams to integrate EHS requirements into daily activities.
