The Electical Design Engineer – Data Center is responsible for designing, planning, and validating Electrical Medium Voltage and Low Voltage systems for Data Center infrastructure. The role ensures compliance with international standards, data center Tier classifications, security requirements, and customer specifications.
The position involves coordination with civil, elv, and mechanical design teams, vendors, and contractors to deliver best‑in‑class Electrical solutions, ensuring uptime, safety, redundancy, and scalability.

1. Electrical System Design & Engineering
- Design and develop Electrical systems for data centers including:
- Medium Voltage System 11kV to 220kV
- Low Voltage System 240V to 433V
- DG System
- UPS System
- Busduct Systems
- Lighting and Small Power Systems
- Cable tray and conduit
- Earthing System
- Lightning Protection System
- Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS)
- Prepare design deliverables such as:
- SLDs (Single Line Diagrams)
- Calculations (Load calculations, Cable sizing, Cable tray sizing, earthing, Lighting Lux Level)
- Study (Load flow, short circuit, harmonics, arc flash and earthing)
- Layout drawings (Lighting, Power, cable tray, earthing, lighting protection)
- Detailed BOQs and technical specifications
2. Standards, Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards such as:
- TIA‑942 / Uptime Institute guidelines
- IEC, IEEE, NEC, CEA, NBC, IS standards and local electrical norms
- Ensure high‑availability design principles (N, N+1, 2N redundancy).
- Conduct design reviews and value‑engineering exercises.
3. Coordination & Project Management
- Coordinate with internal teams— ELV, HVAC, civil, and IT.
- Work with OEMs and vendors for product selection and technical evaluation.
- Assist in RFP preparation, vendor bid evaluation, and technical scoring.
- Provide site support during implementation, installation, testing & commissioning.
4. Documentation & Quality Control
- Prepare submittals, trackers, method statements, FAT/SAT plans, and compliance matrices.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and update as‑built drawings.
- Conduct risk assessments and design audits for quality assurance.
5. Technology & Innovation
- Stay updated with new Electrical technologies and DC automation systems.
- Recommend value engineering proposals.
- Knowledge in ETAP (Load flow study, Short circuit study, Arc Flash study and Harmonic Study) will be added advantage.
- Basis knowledge of Revit.
- Working Knowledge of Navisworks.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Dialux.
