Objective:
The Design Manager leads a project design team, consisting of engineers, designers, and support staff to produce design deliverables and support construction in accordance with the contract.
Plumbing System Design
- Develop detailed designs for plumbing systems such as:
- Water supply and distribution
- Drainage and sewage systems
- Rainwater harvesting systems
- Firefighting systems (hydrants, sprinklers—if part of plumbing scope)
- Pumping systems and water storage tanks
- Perform calculations including pipe sizing, pump head loss, flow rates, and system pressures.
2. Drawings & Documentation
- Prepare and review:
- Layout drawings (water supply, drainage, venting, pump rooms)
- Schematic diagrams
- BOQs, technical specifications, and design reports
- Use AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD/BIM software for modeling and documentation.
3. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure designs comply with:
- Local building codes
- Plumbing standards (IPC/UPC)
- Fire safety codes
- Project-specific guidelines
- Conduct quality checks for accuracy and compliance.
