Overall Purpose and Objective of this position

Responsible for the assigned SCM functions

Major Responsibility and Function of this position

Vendor development and finalization of Vendor list/Bill of Material for a projects – product/system wise; Interaction with Project Coordinators/Project Directors for finalization of project specific packaging. Negotiation for finalization of purchase orders/contracts as member of the Purchase Committee.

Timely issue of PCR and orders; Cost saving – budget Vs actual; establishing benchmark negotiation through cost analysis, present market scenario Vs previous price data; planning and finalization of rate contracts for common bulk items; establishing strategic alliance with dependable vendors.

Knowledge of market conditions, import/export, taxation and familiarization with procurement through ERP for civil including structural, mechanical, electrical and C&I packages of large projects.

Knowledge of procurement of various engineered systems and equipments related to power generation including global sourcing.

Timely procurement to improve internal customer satisfaction.

Ensure continuous compliance and implementation of ISO 9000/14000, QMS for SCM; periodic review of safety and statutory requirements and proper incorporation of the clauses in the purchase orders/contracts.

Work Experience, Special Training and /or level of education necessary for this position

Electrical Engineering graduate with over 15 - 20 years of experience in the field of Project Management and execution of projects including Supply Chain Management.

Supervisory Responsibility

The nominated Engineers would directly report to this position to assist for the SCM functions of SBU.

Specialized and updated knowledge of project procurement systems & procedures; e-procurement and reverse auctions; global sourcing; knowledge of engineering equipments and their source; knowledge of EPC and other type of contracting; Rate Analysis; knowledge of present market rates for basic materials, fuels, freight;  excise duty, CST, WCT, Custom Duty; knowledge of latest INCOTERMs, EXIM policies; import procedures; Planning, Organizing, Negotiation, Analyzing and Decision making skills.
