Overall purpose and objective of this position

To coordinate, plan, execute inspection and expediting activities pertaining to the inspection office; To ensure effective utilization of man power optimizing the man-days; To maintain ISO-9000 QMS, ISO 14001 EMS & OSHAS18001 in the respective zone; To explore new business in the particular Zones with the contacts with various other clients

Major responsibilities and function of this position

Study of contract documents/purchase orders received from clients : Review of contract Documents/Purchase orders from  client for Quality coordination & for Technical specification; For preparation of QAPS to be submitted to client; Getting approval for QAPs by client; Submission & approval of quality coordination procedure.  Study of Purchase Orders-for : Client’s requirements; Technical specification requirements; Delivery period
QAPs  Approval – (submitted by vendors) :  Study of QAPs  and check in line with technical specification; Issue of approval of QAPs  to vendor offer obtaining clients approval.

Expediting of Supplies : Forwarding of POs, approved documents and QAPs to various locations of inspection offices; Obtaining  the status reports from inspection offices; Circulating of the reports to projects/SCM departments; Highlighting of criticality to Management and submission of progress reports.
Coordination for Inspections : Raising of inspection cells to client; Coordination for inspections with client, vendor and with inspection engineers; Forwarding  inspection documents to client and obtaining the dispatch clearance.

Forwarding of  final documentation to client; Coordination for vendor evaluation of manufacturers/Traders/sub-contractors – forwarding to SCM Dept; Manufacturers/Traders/Sub contractors – performance rating – forwarding to SCM Dept; Field  Quality – Coordination with FQES, Technical advises, reporting to management for field  quality, radiography  monthly.

Work experience, special training and / or level of education necessary for this position

Well experienced Mechanical Engineer with inspection background, Quality assurance background, Expediting experience.  Exposure to Field  Quality and Coordination with clients is an added advantage

Competencies required for the job

Knowledge : Expediting Capacity; Knowledge on power plant, T&D project items; Knowledge on NDT; Skills in submission  of  reports to Management;
Skills in analyzing of root cause for the defects arise during erection; Skills in coordination with client/vendor/colleagues; Good computer knowledge.

Cross functional Competence requirement: Knowledge on Electrical  project items, civil construction and instrumentation; Knowledge on Transportation of equipments; Knowledge on safety during erection.

Skills: Time & priority management; Ability to meet the project requirements; Ability to submit the progress reports/filed quality reports to management; To assess the delays in advance.

Behavior (Soft Skills) : To have more patience; To work more and to talk less; Good computer knowledge.
